Château de Chillon

I know two updates in one day may be a bit much, but I feel like I should post about today before this final week of orientation gets too busy with final assignments and planning for classes.

The train ride to Château de Chillon was wonderful, I loved seeing the scope of the lake and peering into the smaller villages we passed through. I also just really...like trains. I wish I could take a train everywhere.

We sat next to a nice girl on one of our trains that was from the area, and told us how it was so funny to see us taking pictures of something she sees everyday, and how it's kind of boring for people who live in Switzerland. If you ask me, I think all the mountains are fake, and Switzerland works really hard to make them just appear to be pretty but its probably all a hoax.

It was really nice to see all I expected out of Switzerland today: the alps, the lake, the sunshine...and a castle!

I really hope I'll have more free time here once classes start so I can explore the alps and the lake! Geneva is a beautiful city, but still a city, and it's nature where I feel at home. It's amazing how refreshed I feel when I'm near a body of water...whether it's the river and waterfall at Smith, Lake Geneva, or, closest to my heart, the ocean.
